Patients have access to many books about Chinese medicine and online resources about natural fertility enhancement but often end up with too much information, and then become confused about how to most skillfully proceed. Dr. Markus is an expert diagnostician with over 17 years of professional experience working directly with fertility enhancement and alternative medicine. Her depth of knowledge and expertise of prescribing herbal medicines is by far one of her most special qualities. She has deep understanding of delicate dosage issues, drug-herb interaction and especially safety while treatment during pregnancy

Infertility and a myriad of other disease expressions create obstructions to healing. The body-mind is either engendering or inhibiting health and balance in each moment. Our program is designed to help resolve physical, mental and emotional barriers to fertility, and when health meets consciousness; new life can express itself.
We specialize in integrative Traditional and Classical Chinese medicine treatment employing individualized herbal medicines geared to restore health even from serious Western medicine diagnoses. Fertility patients are helped who are trying to conceive naturally and those who are using ART (Artificial Reproductive Technologies). We help all people learn the small and large ways they can get involved and make real changes in their health and life.
Chinese medicine fertility treatment is a system of diagnosis and treatment that includes herbal medicines, acupuncture point recommendations, and nutritional medicine using both foods and supplements. Herbal and acupuncture prescriptions are geared to regulate the menstrual cycle phases (menstrual, follicular, ovulatory, and luteal), to optimize hormonal secretions and to treat and resolve conditions of infertility such as PCOS, Endometriosis, High FSH, Tubal blockage, advanced maternal age, and recurrent miscarriage.
Special attention is paid to personally teaching health practices that contribute to and extend healing in between patient appointments such as Taoist breathing, qi gong, fertility yoga, fertility self-massage, acupuncture points, acupressure techniques, nutritional counsel, uncovering deeper themes of emotional imbalance, and beginning meditation. Treatment sessions involve a review of patient symptoms, examining very closely where there is symptom resolution or where symptoms may persist. Patients can also expect to spend time together learning health practices as needed per patient.

Patient Appointments
We use telemedicine, conducting individual medical consultations over the phone or video chat. This is a wonderful treatment option for fertility and longevity patients who do not have access to a local clinic or a local expert. Several telemedicine treatment options are available to fit different patient needs.
Consultations consist of an integrative diagnosis and a treatment plan that includes Chinese herbal medicine, fertility acupuncture point prescriptions, and nutritional counsel of fertile foods and supplements and fertility yoga.

In addition to reviewing your symptoms and determining diagnosis and treatment plan, your appointment will also include personal guidance and teaching sessions drawing from Taoist, Yogic, and Buddhist wisdom tradition health practices. These will be demonstrated over the phone, in video teleconference or in a workshop setting. For more complete education, we use personalized training media and healing workbooks for home practice and to reinforce the material covered in each session. Each of the following categories contains many practices. We will find the right combination for you.
Practitioner Consultations (Dr. in Your Pocket Mentoring Programs)
This is our program for practitioners who would like a one-on-one consultation with Dr. Markus about their patients or to answer questions. This 75-minute block of time can be used in 15 minute increments through multiple contact channels: phone, email, text and Skype. This is the perfect way for practitioners to expand their expertise through mentoring and gain confidence in a variety of different topics within women's health. Phone and Skype appointments must be set, but texting and email is open for use at your discretion and time will be subtracted from the 75-minute allotment.
Prescriptive Yoga Appointments
Yoga postures, breathing, and awareness are potent tools to rejuvenate and restore the reproductive organs throughout the entire reproductive arc: from puberty to fertility and through menopausal transition. During this appointment, Dr. Markus evaluates your case history and current signs and symptoms then weaves together Chinese medicine and yoga into an individualized, prescriptive set of yoga postures and breathing exercises. The plan will then be delivered as a text document, however an audio MP3 of your private yoga class is available for an additional $29.00.
Nourishing Life Workshops
Our weekend workshops are intended to provide an in-depth learning and healing environment. Programming includes didactic, experiential, and practical methodology. Community and relationship are two additional treasures of the workshop experience. Lasting one to three days, workshops are offered covering a range of topics and are geared toward specific audiences:

- Patients currently experiencing or recovering from disease or emotional disharmony, wanting to deepen their healing journey.

Nourishing Life Fertility Retreats span four days, and provide an immersion into learning, healing, and letting go of old patterns and physical obstructions to fertility, while restoring and resetting emotional possibilities.
