Robin Saraswati's Bio

The understanding and treatment of Gynecology, Reproductive medicine, and Obstetrics with Chinese medicine has been my primary focus and practice for the last 17 years.

As Founder and Clinical Director of Nourishing Life our work is focused in a concentrated treatment setting aimed at fundamentally shifting health status.  We are an Oriental medicine fertility and longevity institute.  My practice involves a detailed interview of current health challenges combined with an evaluation of past medical history including Western medicine's understanding.

I have exhaustive experience evaluating basal body temperature charts for fertility enhancement or avoidance, and to aid in Chinese medicine diagnosis. I also have depth of experience working in conjunction with modern medicine fertility procedures, understand the importance of drug-herb interaction, and am very experienced and confident with treatment during pregnancy.

Treatment consists mainly of herbal prescriptions and nutritional supplements. Yet health status is fundamentally changed and restored though by deep self-investigation of the causative factors of lifestyle that may contribute to your imbalance. For this reason, health practices are taught that shift physical and emotional tendencies, such has yoga, breath work and meditation. Also as a yoga practitioner for over ten years, I include very specific yoga techniques aimed at regulating your specific imbalance. I am personally a practitioner of all of the health practices that I recommend, and it is my honor to bring that information to people who see it.

While our primary focus is to help women and couples enhance their fertility compatible with either natural or procedural conception, and ultimately conceive and give birth, what I have come to realize is that fertility is much more than a narrow reproductive marker. Fertility is the ability to fully inhabit a moment, to be completely present. That is where life happens—and that is the creative force of the mother. When we can learn how to connect consciously with what is happening in each moment, allowing and trusting the unfolding of life on life’s terms, rather than controlling and forcing outcomes, we open to life. This is fertility enhancement and this mindset and lifestyle can deeply impact physical imbalance and disease. In this way, Nourishing Life’s programs can be helpful to almost anyone.

The degree of Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM) is a newly accredited, advanced doctorate degree for licensed acupuncturists. I am proud to be one of 40 people in the U.S. who have earned this degree.

Recently, I conducted clinical research in the area of menopausal syndrome and discovered new ways to manage menopausal transition and I have been a teacher of Chinese medicine to practitioners both in the US and in Europe for the last 13 years.

Continuing my education each autumn in China and India for at least one month allows me to stay current with the newest practices and ideas for medical diagnosis and treatment.

Some of my passions include sharing my life with my husband Raghu, yoga, chanting, music, calligraphy, Ikebana, language study, tea ceremony and long walks with my dogs.

I look forward to working with you.
