To Enhance Fertility
The use of basal body temperature charting is one of the tools I use to enhance fertility. These temperatures are also quite useful for Chinese medicine diagnosis. My practice often integrates with ART (artificial reproductive technologies) and fertility procedures such as IVF. The importance of drug-herb interaction is a chief concern, and am very experienced and confident with treatment during pregnancy.
Rigorous Training and Credentials To Ease Menopause
Part of my doctoral research involved conducting a randomized clinical trial where I investigated herbal medicinals for menopausal syndrome and discovered new ways to manage the symptoms of fluctuating hormones. I have a variety of tools, including: herbal, energetic, and nutritional and more solutions to help naturally ease the passage through menopausal transition.
The degree of Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM) is an accredited, clinical doctorate degree for licensed acupuncturists (LAc). I am proud to be one of very few practitioners to earn this advanced degree. Clinical excellence is one of my top values, and continuing my education often takes me to China and India for inner cultivation, yet allows me to stay current with the newest practices and ideas for medical diagnosis and treatment.
Teaching comes naturally to me; I love inspiring others. I am in my 25th year of teaching Chinese Medicine and have recently held academic positions in both masters and doctoral degree programs.
Chinese Medicine + Yoga = Whole Life Healing
The synthesis of medicine and yoga began in 1998 in Southern California studying traditional Ashtanga yoga with Tim Miller. I completed my first teacher training with him in 2003 and soon after began integrating yoga with Chinese medicine in my medical practice. I have been spreading the love of Yoga for women ever since. Dao Flow yoga for women’s health is the fruit of all of these many experiences; a unique yoga style that braids together Chinese medicine, and women’s health into the methodology of yoga.
The centerpiece of treatment plans are herbal prescriptions, diet therapy and nutritional supplements. Yet, health status is fundamentally changed and restored through deep self-investigation of the lifestyle factors that are the actual cause of your symptoms. For this reason, we teach health practices such as yoga, breathwork and meditation to shift physical and emotional patterns. Also as a yoga teacher and practitioner for over 27 years, I have designed very specific, individualized yoga techniques aimed at regulating hormonal imbalance. I am personally a practitioner of all of the health practices that I recommend, and I am grateful to bring this information to the people who need it.
From Menstruation to Fertility, Through Menopause and Healthy Aging
At Nourishing Life, we help women and couples enhance their fertility compatible with either natural or procedural conception. But what I have come to realize is that fertility is much more than a narrow reproductive marker. Fertility is the ability to fully inhabit a moment, to be completely present. That is where life happens—and that is the creative force of the mother.
When we can learn how to connect consciously with what is happening in each moment, allowing and trusting the unfolding of life on life’s terms, rather than controlling and forcing outcomes, we open to life. This is the heart of the Nourishing Life Method. Mindful living and breaking down the habits that no longer serve give the ability to recognize imbalance and course correct as needed. In this way, Nourishing Life’s programs can be helpful to almost anyone.
Some of my passions include service work, astrology, the teachings of Ram Dass, beauty, connection, yoga, animals, chanting, calligraphy, traveling to India to sit with yogis, Ikebana, language study, and long walks with my dogs. I look forward to walking with you on your healing path.
