As we unravel all those lifestyle patterns, behavioral habits, and beliefs, the potent self-healing energy is naturally restored and unleashed… and symptoms resolve. The solution lies in how we think, feel, eat, move, and rest — and how we are able to leverage these key cornerstones of health every day in our lives.
Mindfulness
Integrity, truthfulness, accountability, truth-worthiness, presence, care, time, space, safety, non-judgement, kindness, compassion, do no harm, see and be seen.
Faith
Relationship with spirit, caring, trusting, being trustworthy, anyone/everyone can heal, all is happening as it should, holding discomfort.
Service
Profit comes second to service, helping as many as we can, giving of oneself, giving generously, unconditional.
Community
Caring, remembering people, taking time, avoiding hoarding and greediness, magnanimity, generosity, giving people the benefit of the doubt, assuming they did the best they could, trust.
Excellence
Always learning, cutting edge, constant improvement, self-practice with care, walking the talk, energetic control, confidence, continuity of care. I believe much of women’s health issues are rooted in an imbalance caused by the relationship they have with the life they are living. It may be the relationship to their job, with their partner, or with stress. For others, the imbalance may be the relationship they have with their body, with their past, or with food.
In my practice, I see an epidemic of women not feeling healthy and well. Many problems — ranging from weight control, depression, infertility, fatigue, poor sleep, migraine, PMS, irregular cycles, low libido, and other issues — often have an underlying cause of hormone and neurotransmitter imbalance. Many people resign themselves to living with the serious symptoms caused by hormone imbalance, accepting them as an unchangeable and an untreatable part of the aging process.
The Nourishing Life Method has its roots in the ancient Chinese science of wellness, longevity, and potency called Yang Sheng, which literally translates as Nourishing Life. These are specific techniques proven through the test of time. When practiced on a regular basis, Yang Sheng increases your healing energy to fight off disease while also raising your subjective feelings of happiness.
I think women are looking to be inspired about being in their own bodies. They want to join others to feel good about themselves. I think they want to know when their symptoms are normal so they don’t have to worry. But women often feel alone in the process. I believe women want to be with other women to learn about what to expect as they go through all of the normal aspects of life — from getting pregnant, to breastfeeding, through PMS and depression, to hot flashes and bone strength. Women want sisters and aunts and grandmothers. This is Nourishing Life. This is what I seek to enable.
I think women want to try gentle, natural options first. They are afraid of rushing into medical procedures and taking external hormones, but they don’t know where to begin. I think they want to know they are in expert hands, in a safe place where all of the options available are being considered: lifestyle changes, food cures, relaxation methods, yoga, deep breathing, herbal agents, key nutritional supplementation, and when necessary, bio-identical hormones.
